Hardware Engineer, ASIC Design

Hardware Engineering | Redmond, Washington

Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is looking for an IC Designer to support the development of our next-generation consumer product platforms that will provide breakthrough simulated reality user experiences. The successful candidate will be required to design custom ICs/ASICs to enable some of the functionalities in this hardware platform. This is a full-time position based in our Redmond, WA office.


  • Designing, simulating, and testing of an IC display ASIC or SoC for use in a simulated reality device which also includes electronics, mechanics, optics and software
  • Collaborating/leading in a team environment where working with a system architect, IC design partners, and fabrication partner are critical
  • Creation of detailed design specifications for use with external design partners
  • Managing external design partners and fabrication partners
  • Designing and managing device test plans

Minimum Qualification

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in digital/analog IC design
  • Experienced user of Cadence IC design tools and high speed simulation tools like: SPICE, Hyperlynx, or others
  • Design experience in display drivers using high speed digital and analog circuits
  • Exposure to both ASIC and SoC design methodologies
