LED Hardware Test Engineer

Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is currently seeking experienced and highly motivated R & D test engineer to develop and implement suitable test programs for LEDs at wafer, device and system level. The job is particularly suited to a Research Engineer or Scientist wishes to further develop their career in a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment.   This is a full-time position based in our Cork site, Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Support the fabrication, assembly and systems teams by proving good quality test data
  • Design, construction and application of hardware & software for novel test solutions applicable to microLED devices, systems and displays
  • Analysis of data with a good technical understanding to interface with fabrication team
  • Writing and presenting performance reports for the needs of internal and external projects
  • Documentation and control responsibility for all processes and procedures related to the position
  • Promote and support innovation to facilitate IP generation as appropriate
  • Interface with suppliers and partners, from a technical and project management perspective

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Micro-electronics, Engineering, Physics or Material Science
  • 5+ years’ experience in III-V semiconductor (GaN/GaAs/InP) device or system characterisation
  • Knowledge of micro and nano-fabrication of optoelectronic devices such as LEDs and lasers, and the physics of their behaviour
  • Knowledge of display test methodologies and equipment
  • Software development for interfacing with test hardware over GPIB or LAN using LABVIEW, C++, VEE or similar
  • Test-bench & equipment commission, setup and use

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of time-domain, frequency domain and temperature based measurements
