Technical Program Manager

Oculus Research, the research division of Oculus (Facebook), is currently recruiting a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the coordination and planning of our research programs. The role involves coordinating with our internal project leaders and the TPMs at our sister sites to ensure efficient product development. The job is particularly suited to a person with a technical project management background and a passion to get the job done on time and to target. The TPM will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment.   This is a full-time position based in our Cork office, Ireland.


  • Program management with a focus on ownership and continuous improvements
  • Initiate and manage project plans and ensure on-time delivery
  • Perform risk management and change management on projects
  • Provide day-to-day coordination for projects and tasks
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders and various key teams around the organization
  • This involves communicating upwards and downward within the organization chain as well as cross sites in multiple time-zones

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent experience,
  • 2+ years of tech industry experience
  • 2+ years of technical program management experience
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with highly technical teams
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to motivate and focus a large collaboration to reach challenging goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exposure to large-scale systems
  • Problem Solver to remove any impediments to researchers to overcome complex problems
  • Good writing and oral communication skills
  • Capable of dealing with ambiguity and changing research paths
