Join a team of designers who are passionate about creating a cutting-edge VR experience and establishing Oculus as an industry leader. As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from conceptualizing the next generation of the VR platform (PC & Mobile) to designing incremental features. Working with Product Management and Engineering teams, you’ll tackle critical questions around what social interactions look like in 2D to VR today and for the future. You will be expected to use your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will own a wide area of the Oculus experience. You’ll be responsible for designing, researching, prototyping, and implementing features for incremental changes as well as future iterations of the product. You’ll be designing social features that integrates into consumer, developer, and internal-facing products. You’ll work with and get feedback from the Design, Engineering and Product Management teams at Oculus. This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park.


  • Synthesize broad and ambiguous business requirements and accomplish them through design
  • Help establish preliminary processes to align cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Product and Executive teams
  • Design end-to-end flows, visuals and individually contribute to the product and feature set
  • Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product
  • Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers, content strategist & QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch - as well as post-launch design support
  • Quickly solve issues with your cross functional leads
  • Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders
  • Step back and help build product strategy – thinking beyond just incremental features
  • Think holistically across all of Oculus’ products and how every product interacts with one another
  • Advocate for product design within the Oculus company and throughout Facebook

Minimum Qualification

  • 4+ years of experience in shipping software products
  • Experience with Android essential
  • Experience with designing cross-platform products (user facing to back end systems)
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research, including A/B testing frameworks
  • A portfolio featuring examples of both visual and interaction work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in animation and 3D
  • Experience in developing apps optimizing on the FB social graph
  • Experience with Unity
