Manager, Hardware Technical Program Management

As a Manager, Hardware Technical Program Management at Oculus, you will lead a team of Module Hardware TPM’s to consistently deliver highly complex programs predictably and efficiently, while maintaining high team morale. You will lead the team through executing on the NPI process, planning requirements with internal and external customers, managing project schedules, identifying and tracking risks, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.


  • Manage a team of Module (Display, Optics, Battery, etc.) Hardware Technical Program Managers
  • Guide development of project schedules based on product requirements, technical challenges, fabrication lead-times and business needs
  • Manage communication within and between hardware, software and vendor teams
  • Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks
  • Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment
  • Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to identify, scope, constraints, dependencies, risk management and deliver global projects
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently
  • Coordinate communication with external hardware partners, contractors and manages communications around development from engineers to leadership

Minimum Qualification

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years experience as a program manager working across all of the following areas: electrical, mechanical and software for a consumer electronic device company
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of program managers
  • Experience manufacturing methods and processes
  • Experience with project and issue tracking and version control software
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams
  • Up to 20% travel (~10% international, 10% domestic)
