AR Incubation Lead

Oculus Research is seeking a dynamic leader to join us as AR Incubation Lead in Redmond, WA. Your job will be to build, manage, lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, programmers, specialists, and designers who, working with world-class researchers, will build AR technology that opens the path to everyday use for a billion people. Your team will prototype complete systems that will bring together work in machine perception, optics, displays, human perception, haptics, audio, input, graphics, UI/UX, mobile computing, silicon, sensing, batteries, and whatever else is needed to create a truly compelling AR experience.


  • Build, lead, mentor, inspire, and enable a world-class incubation team
  • Work with Chief Scientist and lead researchers to develop and pursue a vision for what AR needs to be in order to be broadly used
  • Proactively identify technical, legal, and logistical issues and drive creative solutions to fix them and manage risk

Minimum Qualification

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a related area such as mobile, optics, or computer vision
  • hardware management experience required
  • Experience with shipping consumer hardware products strongly preferred
  • ideally this would involve building and shipping hardware products with complex, cross-functional electrical/mechanical and software/firmware components
  • Demonstrated skill at innovation
  • Genuine passion for and experience with pioneering new technologies
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and with taking however long is required for success
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and resolve conflicts within a high-performing team
  • Experience working with external vendors a plus
  • Full-time on-site at our research location in Redmond, WA
